What are the advantages of mediation?
The main advantage is that matters are dealt with cheaply, quickly, privately and that parties are in control of the process and make their own decisions.
On average, the cost of mediation is about 10% of the cost of a contested court battle.
Everything in mediation is private so your private life is not at risk of being exposed as it might be in court.
Mediation sessions are 90 minutes long and on average between two and four sessions are needed. The costs are explained on our charges page.
You have control of the process and the outcome unlike if you went to court where you would be stuck with the order made by the judge which might not suit either of you.
